Is the Security Deposit refundable?
Sure is, so long as you haven’t destroyed our campervan! The security deposit is fully refundable provided that the vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location, undamaged, in a clean condition and with full fuel tanks (fuel being petrol or diesel) and gas bottle. Except where the Pre-Purchase Gas Option (included in the Smart Pack) and/or Pre-Purchase Fuel has been pre-purchased.
Can I pull up and camp on the side of the road?
It varies depending on the law of the land. If you do decide to do it, we urge you to take a moment and think about our environment. It’s precious, so make sure you leave it as you’ve found it so others can continue to enjoy your experience.
We do recommend that from time to time you stop in at a Holiday Park. Australia has an extensive network of Holiday Parks in all major tourist centres and in most towns. Most have recreational facilities, as well as resources to dispose of waste water. They also have provision for you to plug the vehicle into electricity.
For more information on responsible freedom camping and Holiday Parks, have a yarn to our branch staff before you hit the road.
What if we have an accident in our campervan?
First, make sure you’re ok.
Any accident must be reported within 24 hours. An accident report has to be completed as soon as possible. It is important to note that you are liable for all damage costs as a result of any accident, up to the applicable excess.
The applicable excess will be processed at the time of an accident. Remember, if you have an accident, regardless of who is at fault, you have to pay the applicable excess.
In Australia, an accident must be reported to our Motor Claims Department.
Are there any roads I cannot drive on?
There are some roads that you can’t drive on, as the conditions are unsuitable for our campervans and could endanger your safety. Our campervans can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads. The only exceptions to this are well-maintained access roads to recognised campgrounds and well-maintained, recognised roads on Kangaroo Island (South Australia). For a detailed list of road restrictions, please refer to our terms and conditions, or consult our reservations crew.
Can I extend my hire?
We’d love you to, and so long as we don’t need the vehicle desperately for another hire, we’ll try our best to let you keep on travelling. Just give your nearest branch a buzz, or call us and we’ll see what we can do.
Terms of booking on this website
Information disclaimer
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. Booster seats (to accommodate children between four and six years) can be fitted to our Explore More campervans, but we’re real sorry, baby seats can not.
We offer booster seats for hire if you need one. To find out how to get your hands on one, give us a buzz, or ask us when you’re checking out your vehicle.
Where can I find out information on Australia Road Rules?
Like any country, our road rules are a bit different, and some vary a little by State. The most important thing to remember if you’re from a country that drives on the right, is that we drive on the LEFT! For all the guff on how we do it downunder, check out Australian Automobile Associations (AAA) Road Safety for Overseas Visitors & Road Users hand book.
Is there a minimum rental period?
Afraid so…
- For same city locations the minimum rental us 5 days
- Between 15 December 2010 – 5 January 2011 the minimum rental is 7 days
- One-way hires between different cities the minimum rental is 10 days
Do you offer one-way rentals?
We sure do! There is a one-way fee of AU$250 applied to one-way rentals with a minimum hire requirement of 10 days. There’s no one-way fee between our Sydney Downtown and Sydney Airport branches, and you can’t drop off your vehicle back to our Sydney Downtown branch, you can only collect from there.
How old do I need to be to drive a campervan?
Easy! 18 and up.
Do I need a special license to hire a campervan?
Nope. Your standard driver’s license is enough, as long as you’ve had it for at least a year. However, if your licence isn’t in English, we’ll need to see a valid International Drivers license as well.
What is Accident Liability?
This is the maximum dollar amount (cost) per accident that you’d be responsible for if you’re unlucky enough to have an accident. This includes damage to the rental vehicle and any third party property. To put your mind at ease, we’ve got Accident Liability Reduction Options that you can tack on to your hire.
What is the Security Deposit?
The Security Deposit is required as a deposit, or bond, that we need to let you take away one of our campervans. The Security Deposit is either a full debit from the credit card supplied (all funds processed against your card) or simply an imprint (a dollar amount recorded against your card with no payment processed) depending on your age and what level of liability reduction you take.

We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
