ORIGIN campervans is run by inspired entrepreneurs who are outdoors fan who love travelling, meet people and have a great time camping.

Backpacking in South America, Surf in Indonesia, Trekking in Nepal, Exploring the outback in Australia to finally settle down for a few years in New Zealand, where we lived "the" campervan experience.

Back to Europe, we realized how travelling around Europe and specially in France could be expensive! It is why we’ve decided to offer the possibility to all the budget travelers who enjoy freedom and adventure to discover our beautiful country!

So, we've launched our campervan rental agency, offering budget campervans that are bang up to date!
Because security is a must, with which we don’t compromise!

We’ve purchased and fitted a fleet of brand new Transporter Volkswagen in memory of the good old Combi VW.
(and we kept the style from the 6O’s with all those colorful flowers!!). Origin Campervans wants to distinguish itself with its customer focus service and by ensuring maximum security.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. If you encounter issues with the vehicle whilst on hire, you MUST report these issues directly to the relevant supplier at the earliest possible time. This will allow the supplier to remedy any issues and minimise any inconvenience to you.  If you fail to report any vehicle issues during your rental, it is likely that compensation will not be offered. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.95% credit card or debit card surcharge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency): 25.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.

Origin Campervans Insurance

Insurance

1. General conditions
Fully comprehensive insurance is provided by Origin Campers to the driver named on the rental agreement.
• The guarantee applies to the following risks : Accidents, Stealing and fire, Natural disasters and physical protection of the driver and the passengers and also a civil liability.
• Standard excess of 1500€ (or 1800€ for the california) will be charged on collection of a Camper. In the event of any damage to either the vehicle or third party property.
• The vehicle is only insured for the period of the rent indicated on the rental

2. Assistance 24H / 24 – 7D / 7
24 hour Roadside Assistance is provided under the hire contract
It covers the assistance to the vehicle and to the persons transported in case of mechanic breakdown or of accident. It takes care of: the expenses of towing (at the level of 300 €); the costs of hotel + breakfast at the level of 46 euro/night/pers. (maximum 2 nights );and, if necessary, the expenses of repatriation of the vehicle and the persons transported up to the point of departure of the rent.
This assistance is valid in all the countries appearing on the green card of insurance and. It works 24 hours a day/7 days a week and is accessible to contact the supplier.

3. Exclusions from the insurance
The damages enumerated below are not covered by the insurance:
• Incorrect refueling (ex: putting petrol into diesel tank)
• Tires damaged or flat battery.
• The theft of a Origin Campervan will not be covered by insurance if the ignition keys are left in or on the vehicle whilst unoccupied and the hirer shall be held fully responsible for a replacement vehicle.

4. Obligation in case of incident
At the risk of being declined from the insurance, the tenant makes the commitment of:
• declaring to Origin campervans within 24 hours and to the authorities of police any accident, theft or fire, even partial;
• sending the report directly to the insurer within 72 hours following the accident, a copy of which being also sent to Origin Campervans;
• mentioning in his(her) statement the circumstances, date, place and the hour of the accident, name and address of witnesses, registration of the car of the third party, the name of his(her) insurance company and its policy number of insurance.
• joining to this statement any police report, expert's report, if established;
• discussing on no account the responsibility, or deal or compromise with third parties with regard to the accident;
• in case of theft, of attempt of theft and vandalism, the Tenant will have to make the statement to the local authorities of police or gendarmerie and within 48 hours and will have to deposit a complaint. The Tenant will have to pass on to Origin campervans the original of the complaint and keep a copy. He will have to give as soon as possible to  Origin campervans all the documents of the vehicle and the keys. The no-return of the keys of the vehicle will automatically cancel the theft warranty  and the invoicing of the totality of the value of the vehicle and expert's expenses.
In case of non compliance with these obligations, the Tenant would entirely be considered as responsible, Origin campervans reserving the right to prosecute against him/her.
The excess will be processed in the case of any accident, irrespective of who is at fault. Reimbursement of the excess will occur where a 3 rd party is deemed at fault and repair costs have been recovered.
All the expenses of assistance which could be engendered further to an incident liking of the responsibility of the customer will be completely at his expense. The expenses of towing relative to a battery unloaded by the customer will so be chargeable to this one.
In case of accident caused by the hirer during which the van is seriously damaged or immobilized for 5 days or more, Origin campers  reserves the right to end the rental contract with no compensation nor refund. The costs of repairs or bond are still to be paid.
In case of theft of the Vehicle or damages caused because of the Tenant, or in the absence of identified third party, the Tenant will have to indemnify Origin campervans at the level of the effectively undergone damage (estimate by a report of the repairs, market value of the vehicle, expenses of immobilization, set-up fees, etc.).

5. Destitution of guarantee
The Tenant will lose the profit of all the insurances or guarantees in case he does not respect one of the measures of the present terms and conditions, within the framework of a false statement in the rental agreement and\or in the accident report, attempt of fraud, severe  violation of the traffic rules or quite other liable fault committed deliberately, within the framework of a voluntary fact, suicide attempt, or to any illicit purposes. The non respect of conditions of this document will automatically lead to the cancellation of all forms of insurance and guarantees. The bond amount will no more be applicable and the hirer will be responsible for the whole damage in the conditions of his reliability. Back to top
