Our motorhome rental base is in Biggin Hill,near Bromley London in Kent England, just inside the South East corner of the London M25 orbital on the London Kent Surrey borders, in the garden of England, well situated on the edge of London and Surrey in Kent England to collect your motorhome ready to travel into Europe, or for your motorhome hire holiday in the UK.
Saxons Motorhome rental are also able to offer our bespoke airport motorhome meet and greet services at London Gatwick Airport and London Heathrow Airport, there is no long transfer journey from these London Airport with Saxons Motorhome rental.

Who are Saxons Motorhome Rental

Saxons Motorhome Rental are a family owned rental company part of a the large UK rental chain Practical Car and Van Rental. We started car and van rental in 1998 in Biggin Hill Kent and have slowly increased our car and van hire fleet to over seventy five rental vehicles. Four years ago we moved to our present hire site in Biggin Hill Kent and in 2005 added motorhome rental to improve our range of hire vehicles. We have carefully selected our hire motorhomes to provide attractive usable RV's. Our rental motorhomes come equipped and ready for your motorhome holiday. We offer a personal service with flexibility to help you enjoy your holiday hire, just ask us to help tailor your motorhome holiday hire to your needs. We as a family are keen motorhome users and can help with motorhome sites in England and France that we have tried and can recommend, even down to help booking cheap motorhome ferry crossings. Or why not try the French passion scheme offering up to 24 hour stays on vineyards or farms with your fully equiped motorhome.



Saxons Motorhomes Rentals Rental Terms

Saxons Motorhomes is a trading name of Saxons, Practical Car and Van Rental.

Drivers
On collection of the Motorhome the renter/1st driver will need to present their drivers licence, both parts if new style photo card, and also 2 additional forms of identification, one a photo id e.g., passport and one a recent home id showing name and current address e.g. bank statement.
Drivers must be aged between 25 and 70, and held a full licence for a minimum of 5 years and be in good health. Any endorsements (points) showing on a licence will be considered on an individual basis, normally 3-6 points for speeding or traffic signal violations will not create a problem.
For visitors from abroad, licences need to be in English or an International driving permit needs to be presented with your national licence.
In addition to the main driver for a small charge, we are able to insure up to 2 further drivers on production of acceptable licences.

Insurance
Our Motorhome has comprehensive insurance on the UK mainland for the named drivers listed on the hire agreement for the period of the rental please note this does not cover your personal property and you are advised to arrange holiday insurance.
Rentals to Ireland or Western Europe are not a problem, we need to know in advance and you will need to purchase our overseas travel pack.
If you are late in returning the Motorhome, a penalty of £75.00 per/part hour will be charged, this is partly to cover extending the insurance to avoid you driving uninsured and as compensation for the inconvenience caused to arranging a Motorhome for the next customers holiday.
The driver is required to fit the supplied steering wheel lock when leaving the vehicle unattended.
A £500 damage deposit will need to be paid before the start of the hire. If the Motorhome is returned undamaged with a full inventory, full of fuel, reasonably clean with the waste water and toilet empty the deposit will be returned immediately on return of the Motorhome.
In the case of accident or damage your liability is up to £750 per accident or incident but in the case of theft or write off you will be liable for up to £1500.
Damage caused to tyres/wheels, wing mirrors, glass, underside of the vehicle or overhead damage (defined as over 6feet/1.85metres) or the filling up with the wrong type of fuel will be the hirers responsibility.
In the case of damage due to negligence or in the case of damage to the interior, the full cost of rectification will be charged.
The vehicle must be locked when left unattended and the ignition key must be removed when the Motorhome is not being driven.

Booking
A non refunable booking deposit is required to secure your motorhome booking. The exact amount is detailed in the breakdown of pricing.
A second stage payent of £200 per week is taken shortly after booking confirmation as a separate transaction.Confirmation of your booking will then be posted or emailed.
The remaining balance is due in full, 6 weeks before the commencement of hire.
On collection the damage deposit of £500 will need to be paid by credit card.

Cancellations
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
Should you need to cancel your rental we will endeavour to rehire the Motorhome, if successful will refund your payments less a £50 administration fee.
However if we are unsuccessful in re hiring the Motorhome;
If the cancellation is more than 45 days prior to your booking, you will forfeit your secondary deposit.
If you cancel less than 45 days before your booking you will forfeit the secondary deposit and any hire fees paid
We recommend you take out adequate insurance to cover unforeseen cancellation.
If, on arrival to collect the Motorhome, your licence is unacceptable due to endorsements, defacement or incorrect vehicle categories, no monies will be refunded.

Collections
The motorhome will be prepared and a member of staff will be made ready for the collection time arranged please allow suffient time for your handover.
You can always call us a few days before and if your vehicle isn’t on hire you may be able to come earlier in the day

On collection
If its your first time with a motorhome, we would like to spend at least an hour with you running through the fittings, so you feel comfortable and if you feel you need longer that won’t be a problem.
We will check your documentation and show you round the motorhome to familiarise you with the vehicle and its fittings. We will agree any damage already present and also the inventory of equipment supplied.

Pick Up Instructions
All vehicles will be available for pickups in the afternoons from 1.00pm only. If its your first time with a motorhome, we would like to spend at least an hour with you running through the fittings, so you feel comfortable. We will check your documentation and show you round the motorhome to familiarise you with the vehicle and its fittings. We will agree on any damage already present and also the inventory of equipment supplied.

Drop Off Instructions
Drop off must be in the mornings between 9.00am and 10.30am.
You must be punctual, as each vehicle is fully prepared for the next group to enjoy their holiday.

Railway Station Transfers
Saxon Motorhome is happy to provide transfers from the following Railway Stations: Hayes Railway Station - £10.00, Bromley South Railway Station - £15.00,Orpington Railway Station - £15.00, Ebbs Fleet International Railway Station - £30.00 each way. This is a meet and greet service and you will be taken to the depot to fill in the required paperwork and inventory of your vehicle.

Airport Transfers
Meet and Greet from airport arrivals in terminal and taken to main office in Biggin Hill to fill in the required paperwork and inventory of your vehicle. There is a fee for this service from each of the Airports as follows: Gatwick Airport - £30.00, Stanstead Airport - £120.00, Luton Airport - £180.00, London City Airport - £60.00. Heathrow Airport - £189.00,  At Heathrow airport only we can even carry out the full handover at our Practical Car and Van branch next to the airport to save you time on your holiday.

Returns
For weekly and mid week hires, returns need to be be at the time agreed.
Sorry we do insist on you being punctual, as we want to make sure the vehicle is fully prepared for the next group to enjoy their holiday.
Late returns will incur fees at the rate of £75 per/part hour

On return
The fuel tank needs to be full of diesel,
The waste water empty,
And the toilet empty and clean.
The Motorhome will be checked for damage and the inventory for any shortages.

After Hours Pick Up and Drop Off
Out of hours pick up and drop off of vehicle can be arranged for foreign visitors on long term rentals. Please ensure you contact the supplier on the details provided above to arrange specific arrangements.

Breakdowns
All our Motorhomes carry full breakdown and recovery cover, in the case of breakdown or accident a 24 hour phone number is provided on the windscreen of the Motorhome.
The hirer is authorised to spend up to £100 on repairs and will be reimbursed on production of a valid VAT receipt. For amounts above £100 authorisation will need to be obtained from Saxons Motorhome rental.
In the case of breakdowns, which are the fault of the hirer (e.g. filling with the wrong type of fuel), any costs incurred will be the responsibility of the hirer.

Responsibilities and Liabilities
The hirer is responsible for any traffic offences committed against the road traffic act, parking fines or congestion charges whilst the vehicle is in their charge.
The hirer is responsible for daily checks to the Motorhome of fluid levels, bulbs and tyre pressures.
The hirer is responsible for damage to tyres windscreens and overhead damage(damage above 6ft/1.85m).
The hirer is responsible for locking doors and windows and fitting the steering lock when the vehicle is left unattended.
Saxons Motorhome rental can accept no liability for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or consequential losses from a breakdown or accident.
Saxons Motorhome rental will make every effort to make sure your reserved Motorhome is ready on time, but in circumstances beyond our control where the vehicle is not available and a suitable alternative is unavailable our liability will be limited to refunding the payments made.
When the vehicle is in motion passengers must be seated in the designated seats wearing the seat belt provided, the gas must be turned off and any items not bolted down made secure.

Animals
No animals except guide dogs are permitted in our Motorhomes. If you decide to ignore this policy valeting charges will be incurred as will the cost of replacing any items damaged by or from the smell of animals.

Smoking
Saxons Motorhome Rental operate a strictly enforced no smoking policy,

Travel Restriction

Frequently Asked Questions

If I drive to you, can I leave my car when I collect my Motorhome?

Yes, we can allow 1 car parking space per hire in our secure yard but we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage whilst it is parked.

How long should I allow for the handover at the beginning of my holiday?
If its your first time with a motorhome we would like to spend at least an hour with you running through the fittings, so you feel comfortable and if you feel you need longer that won't be a problem.

Can you collect me from a Railway Station or Airport?
Yes of course we can, there is a charge for this service but one of our representatives can be waiting with a sign board at the station entrance or at the arrivals gate at the airport to greet you. At Heathrow airport we can even carry out the full handover at our Practical Car and Van branch next to the airport to save you time on your holiday.

If I'm travelling to you from abroad can I leave my suitcases with you when I've unpacked?
We are more than happy to store your suitcases in our storage unit.

Why do I have to pay a £500 damage deposit?
This is the insurance excess during the hire and is fully returnable on completion of your holiday as long as the motorhome is returned undamaged, reasonably clean with the waste and toilet empty.

The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.

Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.

Insurance
Our Motorhome has comprehensive insurance on the UK mainland for the named drivers listed on the hire agreement for the period of the rental please note this does not cover your personal property and you are advised to arrange holiday insurance.

Rentals to Ireland or Western Europe are not a problem, we need to know in advance and you will need to purchase our overseas travel pack.

If you are late in returning the Motorhome, a penalty of £75.00 per/part hour will be charged, this is partly to cover extending the insurance to avoid you driving uninsured and as compensation for the inconvenience caused to arranging a Motorhome for the next customers holiday.

The driver is required to fit the supplied steering wheel lock when leaving the vehicle unattended.

A £500 damage deposit will need to be paid before the start of the hire. If the Motorhome is returned undamaged with a full inventory, full of fuel, reasonably clean with the waste water and toilet empty the deposit will be returned immediately on return of the Motorhome.
In the case of accident or damage your liability is up to £750 per accident or incident but in the case of theft or write off you will be liable for up to £1500.
Damage caused to tyres/wheels, wing mirrors, glass, underside of the vehicle or overhead damage (defined as over 6feet/1.85metres) or the filling up with the wrong type of fuel will be the hirers responsibility.
In the case of damage due to negligence or in the case of damage to the interior, the full cost of rectification will be charged.
The vehicle must be locked when left unattended and the ignition key must be removed when the Motorhome is not being driven.
